Racing chair build

My attempt to build a racing chair out of a pile of PVC. (original inspiration: http://i.imgur.com/fE9QQ.jpg) Most of the pictures were taken with a GoPro... I did not realize how odd the wide-angle lens would look.

Pile of parts:

I used 2" PVC for the piping, you could vary the size if you liked.

The total BOM for the project consists roughly of:

Note, buying these items and attempting to assemble them may not result in you producing a racing seat at all. I take no responsibility for anything which results, be it an excellent seat, a giant fireball, or an objet d'art.

The seat:

Honda slide rails attached:

PVC frame attached to seat:

Most of the attachment points for the slide rails were fairly obvious, but here in the back there was one flat mounting point (not visible, but bolted directly into the PVC), and an angled mounting point on the left side (right in this picture). I cut a notch into the PVC to allow the angled piece to protrude into the pipe, and then ran a bolt through the PVC to secure it. This is the second attempt, I removed too much material from the pipe on the first try and it wouldn't sit flush to the slide rail.

Most of the base assembled:

Awaiting wheel and pedal frame (note monitor in background displaying picture of the chair I modeled it on):

Assembled and transported into the living room... It's larger than I expected.

Instead of cement, I used bolts to hold some of the pipe connections together. This should allow for it to be disassembled into two pieces later.
