Racing chair build

My attempt to build a racing chair out of a pile of PVC. (original inspiration: http://i.imgur.com/fE9QQ.jpg) Most of the pictures were taken with a GoPro... I did not realize how odd the wide-angle lens would look.

I used 2" PVC for the piping, you could vary the size if you liked.

The total BOM for the project consists roughly of:

• 2" PVC, approx 25ft (this was more than I needed)
• 3x 45 degree bends
• 6x 90 degree bends
• 12x tee connectors
• 1x12 pine panel (I think about 6ft), though plywood would have been better for the pedal mounting
• 6x 2" u-bolts
• PVC cement
• Logitech G27 wheel
• 10x M6x1 30mm bolts to attach the wheel. I'd recomment 35mm or 40mm, 30 was pretty short
• Drivers seat from a Honda Del Sol, with slide rails
• An assortment of 1" and 3" 1/4in bolts to attach the seat, along with some 1/4" and 3/8" washers
• Some strips of gasketing foam on the bottom to keep the PVC from scratching the wood floor in the living room. I had some of this stuff already sitting around in the garage.

Most of the attachment points for the slide rails were fairly obvious, but here in the back there was one flat mounting point (not visible, but bolted directly into the PVC), and an angled mounting point on the left side (right in this picture). I cut a notch into the PVC to allow the angled piece to protrude into the pipe, and then ran a bolt through the PVC to secure it. This is the second attempt, I removed too much material from the pipe on the first try and it wouldn't sit flush to the slide rail.

Assembled and transported into the living room... It's larger than I expected.

Instead of cement, I used bolts to hold some of the pipe connections together. This should allow for it to be disassembled into two pieces later.
